What changed in the record?

Select one reference inspection and compare it with the active inspection. SiteSteady shows both dates, public observations, status, target dates and resolution notes. It compares the records you select; it does not prove that a site’s condition improved.

Repeat preserves checkpoint identity

Creating a fresh inspection with Repeat keeps each checkpoint’s ID while clearing its findings. The comparison uses those IDs to pair records. Identically worded checkpoints with different IDs remain separate. Matching site labels ignore case and repeated spaces, but a label is not a verified location identity.

Changed wording deserves attention

If an area or checkpoint’s wording changed, both versions remain visible and the tool does not classify a status change between them. Review the scope yourself. A missing checkpoint is labeled as present only in one selected record; disappearance does not clear a finding.

Resolution is still a recorded finding

A resolved Needs attention record retains its original observation and resolution text. It does not become Meets expectations automatically. Uninspected and Not applicable states remain distinct.

Selected does not mean later

You may select records in either date order, including two with the same date. The report identifies Reference and Selected with their dates. It does not infer a within-day order, combine scores or overwrite either inspection.

Review before sharing

The comparison excludes inspector/responsible-person fields and internal notes. Public observations, checkpoint wording, target dates and resolution notes are included, along with any personal information typed inside them. Preview the comparison before downloading its text file.

Records remain editable local snapshots. This feature creates no immutable audit trail, customer notification, safety certification or contractual acceptance.
